R&D Summit for Sustainable Health and Social Care
Date:
06-27 November 2012
Location: King's Fund, 11-13 Cavendish Square, London
This one day summit is designed to bring together people with experience and responsibility for research into a more strategic network of partners in understanding sustainable models of health and social care.
It will particularly focus on helping those with a strategic responsibility for funding, commissioning and facilitating the most urgent and important research that underpins the design and delivery of a more sustainable health and social care system.
The conference aims to help coordinate a rapidly growing area and to help establish and clarify the necessary mechanisms for research funders and commissioners to embed the principles of sustainable health into the broader research agenda.
The event will build upon the King’s Fund/SDO work and that of the NHS SDU and SCIE to assess:
- Specifically: the most urgent themes and issues that need researching next, and:
- Generically: the mechanisms for ensuring sustainable development is an appropriate / routine area when organising, funding, stimulating, commissioning emerging research programmes into health and social care.
